Santorini is one of the best known islands of the Cycladic island group. It measures 75,8 square kilometers and is situated 128 nautical miles from Piraeus and 63 nautical miles from Crete. You can travel to Santorini either by boat or by plane without any difficulty, as transportation from and to the island is frequently scheduled (especially during the summer months).
A unique place in the world, Santorini remains picturesque and at the same time it has impressively withstood the toll of time, offering its visitors a great variety of sightseeing and excursions; museums, archaeological sites, churches and monasteries, wine routes, sailing, diving, horseback riding or a donkey ride and of course trips to the volcano at the neighboring islands of Palaia Kameni and Nea Kameni. Here you can treat yourself to a therapeutic bath in one of the hot springs. The island of Santorini also displays great cultural richness, as its history is tightly interwoven with the Minoan past and other important periods of the evolution of the world’s cultural heritage.
Stefani 4 Suites is an excellent base for exploring the island. Santorini has many beaches, each with its own unique character. Visit the black sandy beaches of Perivolos, Kamari and Perissa, the Red Beach near Akrotiri or the lesser known beaches of Vlahida, Monolithos or Pori. Don’t miss the charming little harbor of Ammoudi, which is famous for its fish taverns.
The main town of Santorini, Fira, is just a fifteen minute romantic stroll away. Along the typical Mediterranean, narrow, cobblestone streets (kalderimia), you can admire picturesque houses and visit shops and restaurants, offering you a fantastic view and the opportunity to discover hidden treasures, and all a stone’s throw from Stefani 4 Suites. Fira is also the place to enjoy nightlife; here you’ll find plenty of bars and night clubs, for all tastes and ages.
